Market study on the usage of ICT in Belgian companies

Goodies Beltug Top

Every two years, we research the business market about developments in ICT. Our 2-page infographic gives you a first glance through the most interesting results. If you’re eager to check out more findings and in more detail, drop us a note at info@beltug.be. We’ll then send you the report with the results of companies with more than 200 FTEs. Benchmark your own decisions for innovation and digitisation against the ones of the Belgian B2B market.

In this report you'll read that turbulence is the common thread running through this survey. Responding to this turbulence requires great resilience and agility. At the moment of the market survey, the impact of the Covid-19 crisis had just subsided; replaced by inflation and the tight labour market. At the same time, we observe that companies see solutions for these challenges, and there is confidence in the opportunities and possibilities that digital technology has to offer.

We also observe that for upcoming technologies such as the Metaverse, web 3.0 and VR glasses, large organisations show some curiosity, but use remains limited.

And in the field of Cyber Security, there is still work to be done. On the one hand, large organisations expect a further increase in cyber security investments, mainly in technology and awareness initiatives. But even so, and despite the number of known attacks, 20.6% of large organisation admit to having no plan in case of a breach.

And how about these findings:

  • The digital workplace has been widely adopted. Homeworking seems to have hit the glass ceiling.
  • There seems to be a reversed trend vis-à-vis cloud.
  • Amongst companies using IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) Microsoft remains by far the most dominant provider for large, Belgium-based organisations.
  • Management and Board are much more in the driving seat for digitisation.
